 Mission Beach is a quiet seaside town, located halfway between Cairns and Townsville in Queensland coast. Overlooking the blue waters of the Coral Sea, Mission Beach has a stunning golden sandy beaches along 14 miles more. Here, two World Heritage areas, the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest forming a natural environment that is not found in other parts of the world. Mission Beach is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and the perfect base for visiting Dunk Island, Bedarra and Hinchinbrook nearby. At Mission Beach, you can find extreme adventure or pampering tropical vacation.

Mission Beach consists of four villages, namely South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach, North Mission Beach, and Bingil Bay. Beach lined with palm trees connecting the small town fourth, of Kennedy Bay in the south to the Garners Beach in the north.

Surrounded by World Heritage rain forest on one side and the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage-listed on the other side, you can relax as well as adventurous as you like in this marine playground. Queensland climate is cool and perfect for enjoying the tropical waters year-round activity. Try skydiving over the Great Barrier Reef and landed on the beach untouched humans. You can swim, snorkel, and scuba diving with busy, or white water rafting on the Tully River.

There are also activities on the reef and estuary fishing river, exploring the rain forest, and see the crocodiles. Near the coast, there is a shallow reef that extends from the Porter's Creek at the south end of North Mission Beach, almost reaching Clump Point, at the northern end of this beach. Residents say there is a great fishing spot at Clump Point jetty and coral wall at Clump Point boat moorings .

Mission Beach is home to many species of wildlife, especially the endangered cassowary. Large bird that can not fly is found in rain forests around the region. Much of this area is part of Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area, which is named by Bird Life International as an important bird conservation in the tropical rain forest .

Mission Beach also has a variety of cool restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, and boutiques, mostly located on the edge of the main road Porter Promenade. Queensland is a paradise of tropical fruit and a boutique winery specializing in fruit wines, and can be found at Mission Beach and Kurrimine Beach nearby. There is also a championship golf course near the city that are open to visitors.

Mission Beach is one of the closest mainland access point to the Great Barrier Reef, which is a 1 hour boat ride. This is the main gateway to Dunk Island, just 4 km off the coast. Water taxis and ferries are available to shuttle guests and visitors to the island during the day and resornya. Bedarra Island, which provides exclusive accommodation for 14 guests, is located 7 km away from here. Nearby are Hinchinbrook Island National Park, the largest island national park in Australia, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas and diverse in the world.

From Mission Beach you can go north along the Great Pacific Touring Route to Cairns or Port Douglas can be reached less than 2 hours drive or south to the Whitsunday Islands.
